Helped by decent reviews (read ours) the film is on its way to recoup its $30 million production budget. The film has been a labour of love from the brothers Farrelly, who have been trying to get a Three Stooges film off the ground for over a decade, and this gross seems to have justified the hard work.

21 Jump Street brought its cumulative gross to $120 million after scoring a further $6.8 million.

The Luc Besson produced action-throwback Lockout had a disappointing start, grossing just $6.2 million (read our review). The Guy Pearce starrer cost just $20 million, so once international grosses and ancillaries are factored in it'll turn a profit.

That's it for now. See you at the movies.
