'Amazing Spider-Man' Trailer 3 Image Gallery: Spidey-Style Action & The Lizard

Now that the third trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man is out, debate about the quality (or lack thereof) of Sony's Spider-Man reboot is once again raging.

The new trailer was pretty impressive by our standards (and is guaranteed to be even more so in 3D) ' and to that end we've rounded up a bunch of new still images from Amazing Spider-Man to share. Get a look at the new Spider-Man costume, more web-slinging and wall-crawling acrobatics, a better look at The Lizard, and much much more!

Check out the screenshots from the latest trailer below:

Suffice to say, a lot of people who were either on the fence or skeptical about this reboot  are now starting to come around. The two things in trailer 3 seem to have impressed people are 1) the color pallatte of the film (the mix of vibrant color and dark shadows) and 2) the mechanics (no pun) of Spider-Man's web-slinging, wall-crawling and acrobatic fighting ability. Looking at some of these still images, we can truly see just how intricate and detailed these shots are. Seeing Spider-Man and the Lizard crawl/claw across a high school ceiling as they battle it out? Come on, what  fanboy doesn't love that?

Marc Webb's direction indeed looks very promising in this trailer, and a lot of the decisions that were made in order to separate this reboot from Sam Raimi's films seems to have paid off in Amazing Spider-Man's favor. Big time. This is one trailer that must be seen on a big 3D screen to truly appreciate ' the Spidey web-slinging acrobatics alone would make it worth it.

Of course, in the end, a trailer is only a trailer. We'll have to see if the actual movie carries the same quality when The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters on July 3, 2012.

New 'Amazing Spider-Man' Stills Showcase A Classic Lizard Design

The Lizard Lab Coat

With Marvel Studios only a day away from kicking off the summer movie season in North America tomorrow at midnight with The Avengers, rival studios Sony and Warner Bros. will share in the glory as well. Each will launch the third and final trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises, respectively, attached to the theatrical run of The Avengers.

The Dark Knight Rises trailer released earlier this week and while we wait for The Amazing Spider-Man's most important piece of marketing to release shortly, we do have two brand new stills from the film offering a detailed look at The Lizard which fans will appreciate.

At the outset of Sony's plans to quickly reboot the Spider-Man franchise, there was understandably a lot of cynicism thrown towards the project. By bringing in Marc Webb and a talented and likable cast, and constructing what appears to be a more grounded story with a more accurate depiction of Marvel Comics' Peter Parker character (artificial web-shooters!), and The Amazing Spider-Man successfully maintained a streak of positive buzz.

The one sticking point for some fans through Sony's marketing efforts is the design of the film's primary villain, The Lizard. Some find the animated alter ego of Rhys Ifans' Dr. Curt Connors too similar to the Abomination character from The Incredible Hulk, some don't yet approve of the character's changes from the books.

The two new stills released by Apple earlier today, may quell those fears as they present a Lizard design very familiar to fans of the Spider-Man cartoons and comics:

Don't like the movie's primary big naked lizard design ' the same one used for the toys and Halloween costumes? At least one scene in the film will make reference to the character's classic design where he wears the white lab coat. In the other image, The Lizard has Peter Parker's camera so don't be surprised to see Connors discover Peter Parker's secret identity ' that's the formula for all Spider-Man movies.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field with of course, a cameo from Stan Lee.

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters (2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D) around the U.S. on July 3rd, 2012.

'Fast and the Furious 6' Casting Rumors Include Luke Evans & Rihanna

Fast Six with Luke Evans

When we last saw Dominic Torretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) they were tearing up the streets of Brazil in twin Dodge Chargers. Did I mention that attached to the rear of the vehicles was a safe loaded with over a 100 million dollars? With production for Fast and the Furious 6 (Fast Six?) underway one can only wonder what director Justin Lin has in mind to follow up the explosive action scenes he blessed us with in Fast Five.

The entire cast of Fast Five is due back for the sixth installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, including Michelle Rodriguez who is set to return as Vin Diesel's on-screen girlfriend Letty, despite her seemingly untimely demise in fourth film. Also joining the growing ensemble might be two more stars.

Twitch is reporting that Luke Evans may step in as the villain in Fast and the Furious 6. It had been long rumored that Jason Statham might take the villain role but it appears now that he is no longer available. While the Wales, UK born Evans may not be as well known as Statham, he's certainly on the cusp of international super-stardom with recent key roles including Aramis  (The Three Musketeers), Zeus (Immortals) and a stint in last weekend's The Raven under his belt. Evans also has three movies (No One Lives, Ashes and the highly anticipated The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) scheduled for release before the ball drops on December 31st.

Boosting the female side of the cast is not only the return of Rodriguez and the potential addition of Haywire star Gina Carino, but pop star Rihanna, at least according to The Daily Mail. Like Carino, Rihanna also only has one film under her belt in Battleship which opens later this month. Rihanna's role however may be relatively minor as the report has her shooting specific scenes on a track south of London, perhaps as an underground race organizer? Her rep told MTV that she wasn't aware of any such role so we await confirmation on all of the casting reports.

Though not confirmed, word on the street is that the Fast and the Furious 6 storyline may once again be set on international soil. If this is true, it makes all the financial sense in the world to have a UK actor and a Barbadian singer step in to add even more flavor to the diverse cast.

Assuming Luke Evans accepts the role as the villain in Fast Six, he will be following up an exceptional performance by Joaquim de Almeida (Fast Five). As Evans' films continue to hit the big screen both fast and furious (pun intended), he may find himself in a breakout role in one of next year's biggest films. While Statham would have been a fun addition to the Fast and the Furious 6 cast, Evans may be the next best thing' that is of course, unless Michael Fassbender becomes available.

Fast and the Furious 6 is currently in production and is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 24th, 2013.

Netflix Wants To Revive 'Jericho'

Jericho Season 3 TV

The fight for the post- apocalyptic drama Jericho may not be over just yet, as Netflix has approached CBS about resurrecting the cult fave with all new episodes.

The series starred Skeet Ulrich and Ashley and revolved around the residents of a small, rural town in Kansas called Jericho; in the aftermath of a devastating nuclear assault on 23 major US. cities, the Jericho survivors mount staggering  efforts to restore life to some sort of normalcy. CBS cancelled Jericho after its first season due to less than stellar rating, but die-hard fans assembled to launch a successful campaign to save the series, involving sending over 20 tons of nuts to CBS headquarters.

Despite the passionate fan efforts, Jericho was cancelled again for the final time after the second season. Following its television demise there was talk of a big screen movie adaptation, but that has yet to happen. The saga of Jericho did continue for a season 3 in 2009 with a six-part comic book series created by the original Jericho writing team, entitled Jericho Season 3: Civil War and in April 2012 a new upcoming comic book series dubbed Jericho Season 4.

Jericho Season 3 TV 2

Netflix is slowly becoming the Lazarus of the TV world, by either resurrecting or attempting to revive dead shows. Recently, after seven years off the air, Netflix sparked new life in the cult- hit comedy Arrested Development, with a set of new episodes that are expected to be released next year. Netflix also had its eye on giving time-travel drama Terra Nova a reprieve after Fox gave it the axe, but due to budgeting issues it had to pass on the idea for now. Netflix has also dipped into creating original programming with Lilyhammer, starring Steve Van Zandt of The Sopranos.

While the news of Jericho's potential return is exciting, eager fans of the cancelled post-apocalyptic series shouldn't start the happy dance just yet. Netflix has saved a show or two before, but the service can't save them all. The discussions are still in the very early stages and while CBS seems responsive to the idea, nothing may ultimately come out of it. Jericho reruns have been doing fairly well on Netfilx, but it's been over four years and assembling all the same cast and crew might be the real challenge. But if Jake Green had hope for the future, so can we.

We'll keep you posted on the Jericho revival as the news comes in.
